In our competitive market, there are many builders to choose from, but few have learned the construction business from the ground up as Mark Davis has. When he was 20 years old, Mark began his home construction career working side by side with his uncle Jim Fields of James C. Fields and Company. His first position was on-site clean-up and progressed to warranty / punch-list and credits these humble beginnings as the foundation for his construction experience. After years of honing his talents as a carpenter and construction manager with area building companies, he launched J.M. Davis Custom homes in 1995 and began creating and building his own award-winning custom homes.

Mark Davis is grateful for the years he spent learning the building business from the ground up. He believes this has enabled him to establish strong relationships with his vendors and subcontractors. Mark says, “Some aspects of home building are incredibly challenging. It is hard for me to ask someone to do something challenging if I have never done it myself.”

Mark Davis is a hands on builder whose approach is simple: he pours his heart into each house, customizing it to optimal functionality and use of space. He takes pride in building a home that is both beautiful and energy efficient, and also tailored to each client’s lifestyle.

Mark’s warm, easy to talk to personality and true passion for building has created a foundation of a trusting relationships with each customer. He enjoys blending his valuable home building experience with the client’s own personal ideas. By working together they incorporate into each home plan the most enjoyable, functional, and cost effective ideas resulting in the most unique, quality, custom home. Mark states, “Some of the best ideas come from simply listening to my customers wishes, and some of which I still incorporate into homes I build today.” With a keen eye and attention to detail, Mark ensures each home’s perfection with an extensive checklist that not only eliminates mistakes and ensures only the highest quality of construction during the building process, but also anticipates needs of the home in the future.”

Mark Davis in a native North Carolinian. He grew up in Wilson, NC and relocated to Raleigh in 1985. His small town roots paved the road to hard work and dedication, which he believes are capstone qualities to his continued success. Today, he calls Chatham County home and enjoys building home across the Triangle area.
